You’ll know you’re at Sneaky Sunday’s favorite Italian bistro when you can’t find a place to park – yes, it’s that good so just circle the lot again and think - mama mia, it’ll be worth the wait! The family who owns and runs this restaurant wants you to feel you are dining in their home. Made from scratch food is the norm, from the bread to the sauces, they use several generations of family recipes to create old style traditional fare, yet manage to keep their options innovative as well. Fresh fish is a staple, (luckily located next door to the best seafood vendor in town) as well as choice cuts of veal, beef and chicken. The 35 or so Italian specialties are sure to create a decision making dilemma! Hours, Mon-Thurs 11-10pm Fri-11-10:30pm Sat-3-10:30pm Sun-3-9pm

This is one of the best Italian restaurants in Albuquerque, according to Sneaky Sunday, due to it’s focus on using local vendors whenever possible to supply the freshest organic produce and naturally raised meats. Simply superb appetizers, basic to creative pastas, fish, beef, lamb and duck entrees, all exquisite. The Immerga Confit features crispy duck, chile flakes, butter, parsley and polenta, quite wonderful. Or try their Bistecca, a grilled ribeye with gorgonzola risotto cake, finished with a balsamic demi glace. The wait staff is professional and personable. Ask to be seated in the upstairs balcony area so that you have a view of the entire restaurant as well as the ever funky street scene of the Nob Hill district. Hours – Lunch, Mon.-Sat. 11:30-5 Dinner, Sun.-Thurs. 5-10pm Fri.-Sat. 5-11pm

Located just across from UNM’s campus, you’ll wonder instantly if you’re hallucinating, recovering from a hangover, browsing a weird yard sale, or time traveling in the past. Well, maybe you are actually doing one of those things, but you’re also at Saggio’s so relax, look around and then check out the menu! As dizzying as the décor – calzones, panini and focaccia sandwiches, salads, (homemade dressings) pizzas, (a Sneaky Sunday pick) “ mix and match” pastas and sauces, “My Way” lasagnas – virtually any meal can be customized, like being your own personal executive chef without lifting a finger! Beer and wine available. Before leaving look around to see if you can make any sense of the murals, statues, junk yard parts, spectacularly odd art! One groovy joint, so to speak! Hours, Sun-Thurs 11am-10pm Fri-Sat 11am-11pm
